In Butte, I guess you get to go to Prom every year, not just Senior year. Maybe they don't have Homecoming dances then?
My cousin went to prom recently and I did my job as "paparazzo" for the evening and took pictures of her and her date, friends. It really took me back to when I was a teenager!
Prom at my high school was a huge deal b/c you only went once and it was a special thing for your senior year. I helped plan almost all of our high school dances (about 4 per year) but never wanted to go b/c I rarely had a boyfriend (woa is me, I know). What a huge pressure it was to find some guy to ask me (that didn't make me want to puke). In my day, girls did NOT go stag. I usually tried to preempt the situation by joining a group of kids that was making other plans. It was strange to spend all week planning and decorating and then not attend. Perhaps I was missing out? Hell NO! I found out later, college parties were way more entertaining. How could I have imagined I would one day be having the time of my life, dressed head to toe in camo, sliding down a mud slide into a mud pit? Go Wranglers (shout out to Miguel) hehehehee.
Check out princess Julia on Prom Night.
